Short version: we collect what a school needs to teach, we never sell it or advertise to children, and camera and voice features run on the device.
Who we are
ThinkersKlub ("we", "us") is operated by REALYOUSELF CYBERENQUETEUR BHAVYANSHU PRIVATE LIMITED, [Registered office address, City, State, PIN]. We run a learning platform for schools at thinkersklub.in, and we provide software, AI and simulation services to organisations.
This policy explains what personal data we handle, why, and the choices you have. It is written to meet India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (the "DPDP Act") and the rules made under it, and the Information Technology Act, 2000.
Schools, families and us
Most people who use ThinkersKlub are students and teachers at a partner school. In that case the school decides who gets an account and why, and we process the data on the school's behalf and under our agreement with it. The school is responsible for informing families and obtaining a parent's or guardian's consent before a child's account is created.
For our public website, free games and editors, enquiries, and our own business relationships, we decide how data is used and are responsible for it directly.
What we collect
Student accounts (created by the school)
- Name, username, school, class and section; an email address only if the school adds one.
- A password, which we store only as a one-way hash — we cannot read it.
- An optional profile picture, if the student or school uploads one.
Learning activity
- Which lessons, videos and slides were opened, and how far through.
- Homework answers, coding projects, game scores and checkpoint answers.
- Points (XP), streaks, badges and certificates earned.
- AI models a student trains. We save the numbers the model learned from, not the photographs or recordings themselves.
Teachers and school staff
- Name, email address, role, school, and the classes and courses assigned.
People who contact us
- Name, email, optional phone number, organisation and your message.
Technical data
- Server logs — IP address, browser type, pages requested and times — kept for security and to fix problems.
Camera and microphone
Some coding activities use the webcam (for example, face or hand detection) or the microphone (speech recognition). The browser asks for permission first, and these features are always optional.
Video and audio are processed on the device, in the browser. They are not recorded, uploaded or stored on our servers. The only exception is if a student chooses to save a picture into their own coding project, in which case it is stored with that project.
How we use it
- To run accounts and sign-in, and to show each student their lessons and progress.
- To mark homework and coding tasks, and to issue certificates.
- To let teachers and school coordinators see their own students' work and progress.
- To send service emails such as invitations, password resets and homework reminders.
- To reply to enquiries and manage our relationship with schools and clients.
- To keep the service secure, prevent misuse and fix faults.
We do not sell personal data, show advertising, or build profiles of children for marketing. We do not track children's behaviour across other websites.
Children's data
ThinkersKlub is designed for children. Under the DPDP Act, a child is anyone under 18, and their data may be processed only with verifiable consent from a parent or lawful guardian. For school accounts, the school collects that consent; we ask schools to confirm they have done so before accounts are created.
Our free games and editors can be used without an account and do not ask children for any personal information. Work done there stays in the browser unless the child signs in.
A parent or guardian can ask to see, correct or delete their child's data by contacting the school, or us directly using the details below.
Who we share it with
We share personal data only as needed to run the service:
- Your school — teachers and coordinators see the students in their own classes.
- Service providers who host our servers and deliver email, bound by contract to protect the data and use it only for us.
- Certificate checks — anyone with a certificate's code can confirm it is genuine; this shows the student's name, course, school and date.
- Authorities, where the law requires it.
Our pages load fonts from Google Fonts, and the Python editor downloads its Python engine from the jsDelivr network, so your browser contacts those servers. If lesson videos are hosted on YouTube, they are embedded in privacy-enhanced mode.
Where it's kept and how it's protected
Data is stored on servers operated for us by our hosting provider [hosting provider and server location]. We protect it with encrypted connections (HTTPS), hashed passwords, database rules that let each person see only what their role allows, and regular backups.
If a personal data breach occurs, we will inform affected schools and people, and the Data Protection Board of India, as the law requires.
How long we keep it
| Data | Kept for |
|---|---|
| School accounts and learning activity | While the school's agreement is active, then deleted or anonymised within 90 days unless the school asks us to return it first. |
| Certificates | Until the school or student asks us to remove them, so they can still be verified. |
| Enquiries | Up to 24 months after our last contact. |
| Server logs | Up to 90 days. |
Your rights
Under the DPDP Act you (or a parent, for a child) can:
- ask what personal data we hold and how it is used;
- ask us to correct, complete or update it;
- ask us to delete it, where we no longer need it or consent is withdrawn;
- withdraw consent — this won't affect processing already done;
- nominate someone to act for you if you are unable to; and
- raise a grievance with us, and then with the Data Protection Board of India.
For school accounts we may pass your request to the school and act on its instructions. We aim to respond within 30 days.
